As the sun went down on the last day of Summer (holidays) I was looking through my new school supplies, wondering what teachers I got, looking forward to seeing my friends, and then selling some pub night tickets and collecting some bottles. It was exciting but also kind of sad that Summer holidays were coming to an end. After two months I had gotten used to sleeping in, going for bike rides, and just hanging out. I was looking forward to everything that came with a new year of school though and had started to get a little bored every now and then.
The night before was the last not-school-night. I spent it at the beach with my family and best friend. I went for a n(ice) cold swim, we played some dominoes, had barbecued burgers, and took some pictures. It was a great finish to the summer.
Today there was beautiful weather for the first day back to school. There was only a couple hours of school so I slept in and walked there in the warm sunshine. I am in a new TA (like a homeroom teacher) and she is great, I am taking 9 courses (English 11, Socials 10, Math 10, Science 10, Keyboarding 11, Spanish 10, PE 10, Planning 10, and Writing 12), and I have some really nice teachers. After school, a few friends and I went for lunch at Big Feast Bistro and I had the most amazing grilled cheese ever and some green apple jones soda. I am going to have to get that again sometime!! Other than the fact that I have a bottom locker (which won't be too bad because my friend is above me) I am really looking forward to the year! Tomorrow is textbook sign out and then in the afternoon I have a class. I can't wait to see more of my friends, teachers, and see what the new courses are like.
I am planning on writing another inspiring stories post hopefully sometime this week. Since it is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, I think it would be great to share a story or two to help spread awareness. I have so many amazing stories to share with you and I can't wait!! I don't want to share all the stories at once because I really want each story to get its own chance to be in the spotlight and inspire everyone.
I am still waiting for the date of my ERCP. Even though we kind of have everything under control right now, I still want to know exactly what is going on. As for appointments and doctors, I have one this month at BCCH nephrology. And so far that's it. I am still waiting to see someone at genetics.
As for fundraising, it is going REALLY well!! I want to thank everyone who has been helping out so much! I am having a pub night on Saturday and that should be a really fun night! Then, next weekend, I am having a garage sale. I am getting SO CLOSE to my goal!!
