My wish for you this Christmas

Christmas is one of my favourite times of the year. All the decorations and spirit make me smile. It fills me with so much joy to spend time appreciating friends, family, and all the special people in my life. I recently asked people what they like most about this holiday season and they said things like having time off work, staying in pajamas all day watching Christmas movies, waking up on Christmas morning, and relaxing with family. Just hearing these things made me so happy because it's all so magical.

However, ever since Christmas of 2011, things haven't really felt the same. The following year (Christmas of 2012), I wrote a post titled 'All I Want for Christmas' where I wished to be healthy and happy. That wish has sort of hung out in the back of my mind every year since then, as I hope for everything over Christmas to be absolutely perfect. I wanted things to feel just like before that difficult Christmas in the hospital. I always end up disappointing myself though.

This year I've finally started to truly accept where I'm at with my physical health and mental health. I think that's helped make room for me to hang on to all the magical moments of Christmas. Life doesn't have to be perfect for it to be wonderful, and I'm learning to be more mindful of that. When I brought this topic up with my new internet friend Catherine, she told me about her most recent blog post, which I definitely recommend you check out here. Sums this Christmas thing up wonderfully.

Anyway, Merry Christmas to all you lovely people! My wish for you is that you can hang on to every magical moment not only this holiday season, but also throughout the year. Let them fill you with joy and give you fuel for the moments that might not be as magical. Thank you for being in my life. Big hugs to everyone!

Cheers, to magical moments
